College Out Reach | |
Overview The Flight Deck Display Research Laboratory (FDDRL) has supported internships in an attempt to encourage interest in the sciences. In collaboration with organizations like the Foundation for a College Education, De Anza Community College, the San Jose State University Foundation, and the Ames Air-Ground Integration Laboratory, FDDRL has created programs in which students learn about different types of research, as well as learn how to design, implement, and analyze a controlled experiment. In response to expressed interest, students also received instruction on how to create graphics and design web sites based on usability principles. Summer interships with the FDDRL have also included group projects in which students gained experience in teamwork and participated in leadership roles. Students also worked with and interacted with NASA Ames researchers to learn about various research areas so that they can begin the journey to discovering their careers of interest. |
