Dr. Andrew Watson Awarded 2007 Otto Shade Prize

Dr. Andrew B. Watson was awarded the 2007 Otto Shade Prize on Monday May 21, 2007, at the Annual Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition of the Society for Information Display, held in Long Beach, California. Dr. Watson received a medallion and a certificate. The Otto Shade Prize in Display Performance and Image Quality is one of the two highest awards given by the society. It is awarded for an outstanding scientific or technical achievement in, or contribution to, the advancement of functional performance and/or image quality of information displays. The award is made by the Society for Information Display, a 6,000 member international society devoted to display research, design, manufacturing, applications, marketing, and sales. Dr. Watson is Senior Scientist for Vision Research in the Human Systems Integration Division of Ames Research Center. He is a past recipient of the H. Julian Allen Award and the Ames associate Fellow Award.
