A New Federal Aviation Administration Advanced Avionics Handbook based on Human Systems Integration research has been released.
(Jun 24, 2009)
In June 2009, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) released the book Advanced Avionics Handbook (FAA-H 8083-6) written almost entirely by Dr. Stephen Casner from the Human Systems Integration Division (Code TH). This book provides general aviation pilots with comprehensive information on advanced avionics equipment in technically advanced aircraft. The impact of Ames on aviation now extends to the approximately 600,000 general aviation pilots in the United States because this book is the authoritative source for advanced avionics training and certification.
