During his recent podcast interview in February with AvWeb, Dr. Key Dismukes discussed pilot error and aviation safety, explaining how prospective memory failures and multitasking demands contribute to error. He also described how pilots can use techniques, such as risk analysis, to reduce vulnerability to error. Dr. Dismukes is the Chief Scientist for Aerospace Human Factors in the Human Systems Integration Division and has published several books including the recent Human Error in Aviation (2009) and The Multitasking Myth (2009).
