Objective Measures of Fatigue in Commercial Aviation

We are conducting a study to evaluate roster design and fatigue in short-haul commercial aviation. The purpose of the study is to evaluate objective measures of physiology and performance, which may benefit Fatigue Risk Management Teams in identifying fatigue levels of operators in commercial aviation. In addition, we are evaluating the efficacy of an enhanced lighting scheme during pre-flight briefing in order to determine whether supplemental lighting may help improve crew alertness, performance and circadian adaptation to new shifts.
