Lesson 1: Human Performance- Human performance research involves the analysis of human vision,
hearing, motor control, and human perceptual and
cognitive processes.
The goal of human performance research at NASA is to maximize the health, productivity and safety of crew members in
space by modeling human performance, developing tools for evaluating performance, and creating countermeasures to mitigate performance deficits.

Lesson 2: Technology Integration and Design- Technology integration and design involves the application of what is known about human behavior, abilities and limitations to the design of complex systems. The successful design of these human-centered systems directly impacts human performance and safety.
The primary focus of this research at NASA is to optimize usability and to make dramatic improvements in safety, efficiency, and mission success.

Lesson 3: Human-Computer Interaction- Human-computer interaction (HCI) is a multidisciplinary field of study focusing on the design of computer technology and, in particular, the interaction between humans (the users) and computers.
The Human-Computer Interaction Group at NASA contributes to the development of measurably better software through careful application of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) methods. The group follows an iterative process that consists of user research, interaction design, software development, and usability evaluation. |
